DCP Announces New Enrichment Programs Beginning in April

The Summit Department of Community Programs (DCP) is announcing two new programs, Mission Code and NASA Space Academy, beginning Monday April 16 and running until May 21, 2018. Both programs will be held at Pilgrim Baptist Church, 77 Morris Ave, Summit, New Jersey.
Mission Code will teach children programming in a fun and easy way, using a combination of unplugged activities and a web-based game, children will practice programming concepts and receive immediate feedback on the quality of their solutions. Each child will receive 12 months of online access to classes, videos, and games. No prior knowledge of programming is required. This program is open to children in grades two to six and will be held on Mondays April 16 until May 21 from 4:40 to 5:40 p.m.
NASA Space Academy is a hands-on program that sends children on a quest for exploration. Comets, planets, stars, and more are all waiting to be discovered. Children will learn about the four forces of flight, the challenges of space travel, and participate in a rocket launch. This program is open to children in grades kindergarten to eighth grade and will be held on Mondays, April 16 until May 21 from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m.
