7th Annual Boy Scout Chess Tournament

The 7th annual Munsee District Boy Scout Chess Tournament was held at the Cranford Community Center on Saturday, February 22, 2020. This year’s tournament hosted over 30 contestants and trophies were awarded to first, second, and third place finishers.

Congratulations to this year’s winners: 1st Place: Joshua McDonald from Whitehouse Station, Troop 90; 2nd Place: Alexander Beke from Berkeley Heights, Troop 368; 3rd Place: Anderson Lee from Summit, Troop 67. (Each received a portable Chess Set).

This event was coordinated by Renna Media, and met the 6a requirement for earning a Chess merit badge. The tournament was open to all registered Boy Scouts, Venturers and Explorers; among those were Boy Scouts from the Watchung Mountain, Raritan Valley, Munsee, Fishawack, and Black River Districts.

A great job was done by everyone who came out to compete at the annual tournament, we hope to see you next year!
