College Woman’s Club of Westfield Scholarships

The College Woman’s Club of Westfield awarded $40,000 in Scholarships at its Annual Meeting on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 via a live teleconference event. The awards were presented to five young women from Westfield to help them pursue their college education. The recipients were selected based on academic achievement, community service, and financial need.
Caroline Bielen was awarded the $3,000 Grant in Memory of Katharine Jaruzelski. Caroline plans to serve as a counselor at a Girl Scout day camp this summer before starting her pre-law studies at the University of Pittsburgh this fall.
Elizabeth Bielen was awarded the $5,000 Marjorie McCornack Scholarship. Elizabeth will attend Lehigh University in the fall.
Martha Byrne was awarded the $2,000 Past President’s Scholarship and the
$10,000 College Woman’s Club of Westfield Scholarship. Martha is off to the University of Notre Dame in the fall.
Rebekkah Dayon was awarded the $10,000 College Woman’s Club of Westfield Scholarship. Rebekkah begins her studies at Montclair State University this fall.
Sophia Principato was awarded the $10,000 College Woman’s Club of Westfield Scholarship. Sophia will be attending the University of Delaware in the fall.

The College Woman’s Club of Westfield is proud to acknowledge this outstanding group of young women. We wish these hardworking, accomplished recipients only the best as they go off to college in the fall. Applications for the scholarship are available through local high school guidance departments in February of each year and are evaluated by a committee of CWC members each spring. Funds for the scholarships come from community donations, nominal membership dues, interest on investments and legacies from our members.
