Clark Volunteer Emergency Squad Installs Officers

The Clark Volunteer Emergency Squad (CVES) had a brunch Sunday January 14th to install its officers for 2024 and honor long-serving members. Bistro 1051 served a delicious and bountiful buffet. Clark Councilman Patrick O’Connor swore in the new officers.

The incoming 2024 Executive Board has Jon-Henry Barr – as President; Charlie J. Poyssick – as Vice President; David Newby – as Treasurer; Susan Alacchi – as Corresponding Secretary; Charlie W. Poyssick – as Recording Secretary with Trustees Ron Weslosky, Lorraine Podraza, and Laurie Sheldon.

The CVES Line officers for 2024 are: Captain Katie Sheldon, Assistant Captain Kayla Goncalves, First Lieutenant Christopher Jimenez, Second Lieutenant Matthew Muldoon, First Sergeant Katiria Colon, Second Sergeant Michael Hajkowski, and Third Sergeant Cody Downing.

Additionally, long serving members were also honored, including Tom Lanieri with fifty years of service, Laurie Sheldon, Lorraine Podraza, Joy Scherb, Ann Marie Krok each with forty years of service, Andrew Messina with thirty-five years, Lance Kehoe, Joe Guenther, and Jeannine Guenther each with thirty years of service. In addition, Jon-Henry Barr, Michael Gennaro, Adrienne Lih, David Newby, Ron Weslosky, Barbara Svachak, and Michael Hajkowski have given twenty years of service each, Charlie J. Poyssick and Michael Birriterri have served fifteen years each, Daniel Sheldon, Susan Alacchi, David Geraghty, and Giovannina Prisco each served ten years, and Cody Downing, Diana White, and Krupa Shah-Weslosky having served five years each. 

During 2023, the Clark Volunteer Emergency Squad answered a total of 1,244 calls. We are grateful to all members for their time and effort in serving on the Clark Volunteer Emergency Squad. We want to that Mayor Sal Bonaccorso, Councilman Patrick O’Connor and the entire Town Council, Clark Police Department, Clark Fire Department, and the residents for their continued support throughout the year.
