Cranford’s GREAT PUMPKIN CARVE OUT RETURNS FOR FIFTH YEAR

Carved pumpkin contest and display and movie; for all ages

Jersey Central Art Studio with support from the Cranford Jaycees will hosting the 2018 The Great Pumpkin Carve Out on Saturday, October 20th (rain date of October 27th). It will take place at Hanson Park, 38 Springfield Avenue in Cranford, NJ. The pumpkin carving contest is a free event and is open to all ages. Individuals can drop off their creatively carved pumpkins from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Hanson Park at 38 Springfield Ave, Cranford on Saturday October 20th along with a completed registration form (also available on site).

All are invited to come back to Hanson park starting at 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. to stroll along the pumpkin lighted garden paths of Hanson Park to see their carved pumpkins on display, each on its own pedestal. Cash awards will be given for funniest, scariest, and most original and will be grouped by ages.

In addition, a big screen outdoor showing of ‘Ghostbusters’, the Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray 1984 classic will be shown on an outdoor screen, so bring your beach chairs, and blankets. The movie, stroll and contest are all free and hot cider will be available for purchase.

Registration forms will be available online at jcas.org before the event. At the event’s conclusion all pumpkins can be picked up.

This will be the fifth Great Pumpkin Carve Out, which has drawn hundreds of visitors throughout the area.
