Police Unity Tour

Team Cranford participated in a 4-day, 320-mile bicycle ride from Northern NJ to Washington DC to remember fallen police officers. The Police Unity Tour was formed in 1997 and its mission is to raise public awareness about law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty.

Cranford Police Cycling Team consisted of Captain Patterson, Retired Sgt. Farbanec, Det. LoForte, and SAIC Riera. Auxiliary Sgt. John Guempel was noted for being an integral part of the support team.

The officers rode with hundreds of law enforcement officers to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C. They arrived in Washington D.C. on Friday, May 12, after completing the last leg of the ride from Annapolis, MD, alongside members of the Roselle Park, Summit, Kenilworth, Westfield, Springfield police departments, Union County Sheriff’s Office, and Federal partners in the USSS.
