CRANFORD FAMILY CARE SEEKING DONATIONS TO REPLENISH THEIR FOOD PANTRY

Cranford Family Care is heading into their 81st year of service to the community. They offer temporary emergency assistance to qualified residents. The organization was incorporated in 1936 by local residents, houses of worship, organizations and clubs. Their mission is to assist individuals and families to become selfsufficient, there is true concern for the dignity of the individual. They are a non-profit 501(c) 3 run by a Board of Directors. They are grateful for the support of the community.
Summertime is a challenging time to keep a food pantry stocked and at this time their food pantry is very low– main needs are mac and cheese, sauce, peanut butter, jelly, coffee, sugar, canned milk, canned vegetables, baked beans, rice, instant mashed potatoes, tuna, mayo, ketchup, mustard, pickles, relish, cereal, cereal bars, snacks, juices, juice boxes, cake mixes, oil, paper products, detergents and personal products. They have two freezers and a refrigerator. They are happy to accept super market gift cards and monetary donations. And also offer “In Memory Cards” and “In Honor Cards” for people to remember their loved ones. Kathleen Willis, Director of Cranford Family Care stated “Cranford Family Care is unique as we are the only agency of this type in Union County. We are able to offer these services with the help of donors. We hope you will consider our agency when thinking of donating to a charity.” They are located at 61 Myrtle Street, Cranford, NJ 07016. Hours are Monday – Friday 9:00am – 4:00pm. No appointment is necessary to make a donation, however it’s advisable to call ahead to made sure someone is there. Nonperishable goods and gift cards to any supermarket can be dropped off during operating hours only. NO ITEMS MAY BE LEFT IN FRONT OF THE BUILDING!
