Drive-Thru Food Collection

Cranford United Methodist Church is teaming up with the Cranford Girl Scouts to host its next Drive-Thru Food Collection on Saturday, March 12 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Church parking lot at 201 Lincoln Avenue East, Cranford.

Many of our neighbors are still struggling to keep food on the table and your help is very much needed.

Place your bags of non-perishable food in your trunk, drive up, pop your trunk and volunteers will remove them! No contact needed. Your food donations will be delivered to Cranford Family Care, St. Joseph’s Social Services, and other local organizations serving families in need.

We are in special need of:

  • Paper towels, toilet paper, tissues
  • Hardy fresh produce like bags of apples, onions, and potatoes

Cooking oil, canned tuna, canned chicken, shelf-stable milk, spices, salt, pepper, tea, coffee, sugar, flour, crackers, soup, cereal, canned vegetables, rice (one or two pounds), lentils, beans, cake mix, cake frosting, dish detergent, soap, laundry detergent, toothbrushes, and toothpaste

Can’t make that date? There are bins placed outside the entrance to the Church off the parking lot where donations can be dropped any time, 24/7.

Here’s an idea: Many of the younger Girl Scouts are setting out bins on their porches to make it convenient for neighbors to donate. Why not get your kids involved, too? Set out your own bin and invite your neighbors to participate. Then drop off the donated items at the event on March 12.

Please spread the word by letting your neighbors know about this event. Questions? Email: scarusogreen@gmail.com.
