Cranford DAR Welcomes New Members

The Crane’s Ford Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution welcomed three new members at their October meeting. Joining our chapter were Helen Donovan of Downingtown, Pa, Valerie Shafer of Scotch Plains, NJ and Cathy Sienicki of Kinnelon, NJ. The chapter currently has 64 members from many Union County towns and surrounding states.
The chapter charter was issued on March 7, 1944 by the National Society of DAR. Crane’s Ford took its name from a ford in the Rahway River where light horsemen stood guard while General George Washington’s Army was encamped at Morristown. For membership, women must prove lineage back to the American Revolution.
We invite women who are interested in membership to visit www.DAR.org and to contact the Crane’s Ford chapter at patushkat@aol.com to obtain more information.
