Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), assists our local first responders in cases of emergencies. We might be called for various tasks such as, traffic assistance, sheltering or search & rescue.
CERT Watchung will be hosting the CERT Watchung, Warren, Green Brook Quarterly Meeting on January 17, 2017, from 7 – 9 p.m. The topic will be Search and Rescue. The venue will be Watchung Exempt Hall (57 Mountain Blvd, Watchung, NJ. All our meetings are open to observers. In order to become an official CERT member you will need to participate in a training program. Somerset County CERT will be offering the next training for certification starting in April 2017.
All supplies and training are provided free and include the following subjects: Emergency Preparedness; Disaster Medical Operations; Fire Suppression; Light Search and Rescue Operations; CERT Operations/Incident Command System; Disaster Psychology; Terrorism Awareness; and Disaster Simulation.
