College Women’s Club of Cranford Presents the Benefits of Yoga

Incorporating the Benefits of Yoga into Your Life

The College Women’s Club of Cranford presents “Incorporating the Benefits of Yoga into Your Life” by Elizabeth Armstrong, Certified Yoga Alliance Teacher, on Monday, November 11, 2019 at 7 p.m.

The practice of Yoga originated in India over 1000 years ago. Yoga is a Sanskrit word that means union, the union between the mind, body and spirit. We will learn about some of the physical, mental and emotional benefits of practicing Yoga, as well as breathing techniques and simple yoga poses that can be done sitting or standing. Hopefully, many attendees will see the benefit of yoga and will incorporate some aspects of the practice into their lives.

Elizabeth studied with Ranjitha Sandeep (Yoga Sutra for Life) and has taught yoga at the Westfield Y and other local studios and gyms. She presently teaches 3 yoga classes per week at the Cranford Community Recreation Center, where she attended her first yoga class. Liz is a former Equity Analyst/Portfolio Manager, who spent 20 years in the investment field in Manhattan.

The meeting will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, located at 11 Springfield Avenue, Cranford. It will begin at 7 p.m. with refreshments followed by our guest speaker. The meeting is open to the public.

All Cranford women, who are graduates of a four-year college or university, are invited to join the club. Meetings are held on the second Monday of each month.
