Valley Road School History Camp 2019
Submitted by Nancy Morris
Clark’s Valley Road Elementary School History Camp had a great week this summer with visits to the Dr. Wm. Robinson Museum to take a tour and learn about Colonial times, a trip to Washington’s winter encampment in Morristown, and seeing historic locations and museums in historic Philadelphia.
Two days were spent at VRS participating in an escape room, playing the role of an archaeologist in a dig with authentic artifacts, burying a time capsule, a pony ride and interactions with domesticated farm animals … and so much more! The camp, led by Mr. Bryan Lowe – a 5th grade teacher at Valley Road School, is always a huge success! Mr. Joseph Beltramba, principal at Valley Road, can be seen dressed in historic attire reading to the kids, reviewing artifacts, even petting and feeding the farm animals! Everyone really gets into the moment and makes it a learning experience the kids can really enjoy.
