Clark Recreation Winter 2021 Programs

Clark Recreation introduces the winter session of the programs offered. Complete listing and descriptions of all offered classes and sports can be found in the Recreation brochure that came out in September. Information is available at the Recreation Center for all of the new and existing courses and programs.

Registration can be done online at our website, ourclark.com. Registration forms for each program or class can be dropped off at the Recreation office between 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or mailed to Clark Recreation, 430 Westfield Avenue – Attn: Ralph Bernardo. All registration forms must be submitted by January 11.

Registration is now open. Classes are subject to cancellation if there is not enough interest. Please sign up early.

Due to the Pandemic, restrictions, cancellations and/or postponements are possible for all classes and programs. We are following all the guidelines of the CDC and Governor as they are presented to the public. Every precaution is being taken at the rec center for your safety and the safety of our instructors and coaches. Please check your email daily as this is how we are communicating any updates, and the latest information on what is taking place.

Preschool Programs

Kiddies Junior Robotics – Thursdays 4:30-5:30 p.m. (Ages 3-5) By entering into our “Tinker Lab”, young children will be exposed to robotics in a fun, hands-on-way. Children will be introduced to the coding and programming of real, age-appropriate robots understanding the basics of algorithms. $110 for 4 weeks. Begins February 4.

Kids Ceramics – Fridays (Once a month) 4:00-5:00 p.m.(Grades PreK-6th) Have fun painting a themed ceramic piece each month. No repeats. $12 per session. February 12, March 19 and April 23.

KinderBallet – Fridays 3:30-4:20 p.m.(Ages 4-5) This ballet class will consist of strength exercises, musicality, improvisation, creative movement and class etiquette. We will end the class with high energy, fun choreography with the most popular songs. $70 for 6 weeks. Begins January 15.

Lil’ Athletes – Fridays 9:30-10:00 a.m. (Ages 2-5) Lil’ Athletes is a full fitness program designed to work with children to develop the core skills that will be used throughout their lives in sports and fitness. $105 for an 8 week session. Begins January 15.

Mommy & Me Movin & Groovin – Thursdays 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. (Ages 1-3) This fun fitness program is great for both mom’s boys and girls. This class will build endurance, core strength and all-around better focus. $105 for a 10 week session. Begins January 7.

Mosaic Storytelling & Art – Thursdays 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. (Ages 2-4) We believe that a lifelong passion for learning begins with reading and exploring. Each week will begin with a curated storybook featuring talented children’s authors, illustrators, designers or artists for inspiration. $110 for 4 weeks. Begins February 4.

Movin’ & Groovin’ – Wednesday 4:15-5:15 p.m. (Ages 3 ½-6) 5:15-6:15 p.m. (Ages 6 & Up) or Thursdays 4:15-5:15 p.m. (Ages 4-7) 5:15-6:15 p.m. (Ages 8 & Up) This fun fitness program is great for both boys and girls. This class will build endurance, arms, legs, core strength and all-around better focus. $105 for 12 weeks. Begins January 6 & 7.

Parent & Me Soccer Squirts – Tuesdays 9:30-10:15 a.m. (Ages 2-3) Parent & Me Soccer Squirts is a fun and positive introduction to soccer for young children with a helping hand from Mom or Dad! $114 for 8 weeks. Begins January 19.

Soccer Squirts – Tuesdays 10:20-11:05 a.m. (Ages 3-5) Soccer Squirts is your child’s perfect introduction to the most popular sport in the world! Boys and girls will learn fundamental skills, including dribbling, passing, shooting and defending. $114 for 8 weeks. Begins January 19.

Squirts Multi Sports – Tuesdays 11:15 a.m.-12:00 p.m. (Ages 3-5) The Squirts Multi Sports program allows children to experience a variety of sports throughout the program. It is the perfect introduction to athletics for your future sports star! Includes lacrosse, soccer, t-ball and track & field. $114 for 8 weeks. Begins January 19.

Youth Programs

Cooking For Kids – Mondays 4:00-5:00 p.m. (Grades K-2nd) Learn the fundamentals of cooking, preparing, measuring, spices and more. Have fun with your friends as you cook together. $50 for a 6 week session. Begins January 18.

Hip Hop Kidz – Fridays 4:30-5:30 p.m. (Ages 6-9) Students will learn the hottest age-appropriate dance moves with the most popular music. This high energy class is great for self-confidence building, coordination and fun! $70 for 6 weeks. Begins January 15.

The Science Exploration Class – Tuesdays 4:30-5:30 p.m. (Grades K-2nd) Classes fostering curiosity, exploration and experimentation. Your child will have a blast experiencing age-appropriate scientific concepts while using real child-friendly science tools with a focus on S.T.E.A.M. $110 for 4 weeks. Begins February 2.


Adult and Senior Programs

Bridge – Mondays 12:00-3:00 p.m. – Intermediate and advanced players can enjoy playing this challenging and mind-stimulating game. Free to Clark Residents. Runs to June.

Chair Yoga – Fridays 9:00-9:45 a.m.– Chair Yoga is a gentle form of yoga that is practiced sitting on a chair or standing using a chair for support. Go through gentles stretches and exercises to relax your mind and body while energizing your day. Free to Clark residents. Runs to June.

Ladies Ceramics – Thursdays (Once a Month) 7:00-9:00 p.m.– Enjoy a night out with the girls as you create a holiday themed ceramic piece each month. Sorry, no children. $12 per session. February 11, March 18 and April 22.

Learn ASL – Wednesdays 7:00-8:00 p.m. (Ages 18 & Up) Learn the basics – alphabet, colors, numbers – and conventional ASL in a fun atmosphere with a fun and experienced teacher. $50 for 6 weeks. Begins January 20.

Line Dancing – Fridays 9:45-10:45 a.m. – A dance instructor teaches popular dance steps to beginner or advanced dancers. Put on your dancing shoes! Free to Clark residents. Runs to June.

Mahjongg – Mondays 11:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m.– Come have fun playing the great game of Mahjongg! Free. Runs to June.

Meditation – Tuesdays 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.– Use your own energy to enhance your life through meditation, visualization and healing. No experience necessary, only your desire to free yourself from everyday stress. Free to Clark residents. Runs to June.

RUMMIKUB – Tuesdays 1:00-3:00 p.m. – All game lovers are invited to join us for this game combining Rumi with Mahjongg. Free to Clark residents. Runs September to June.

Senior Exercise Class – Tuesdays & Thursdays 9:00-10:00 a.m.– Group exercise geared toward the senior population. This class incorporates aerobic exercises, toning and stretching. Exercises may sometimes be done while seated.

Senior Fitness Center – Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. (Ages 55 & Up) Keep fit in our state of the art fitness center. Stationary bikes, free weights and treadmills will make you feel great in a clean, safe environment. Doctor’s permission note required. Clark residents only.

Soup and a Sandwich – Wednesdays 7:00-9:00 p.m.– Learn how to make a different soup and sandwich each week. Open to adults only, no children allowed. Clark residents only. $40 for a 4 week session. Begins January 13.

Tai Chi – Mondays 10:00-10:55 a.m. (Beginner) 11:00-11:55 a.m. (Intermediate) This class invites people to learn Tai Chi movements and forms that support balance, strength and flexibility. Free to Clark residents. Runs to June.

ZUMBA Gold – Wednesdays 9:30-10:15 a.m. – Zumba Gold takes the Zumba formula and modifies the moves and pace to suit the needs of the active older participant, as well as those just starting their journey to a fit and healthy lifestyle. Runs to June.
