Stories and songs for active listeners.Geared toward ages 2-3 with a caregiver. Older children are welcome!  30 minutes of open play follows.

Baby Bookworms,Tuesdays, October 3, 10, 17, 24 & 31 at 10am

Babies and toddlers are invited to listen to some books, and learn some songs, rhymes, lap bounces, and fingerplays. 30 minutes of open play follows. Registration is requested.

Patches and Stitches on Tuesdays, October 3, 10, 17, 24 & 31 at 12pm

Bring your quilt or other crafty project and visit with the members of the quilting club.

Digital Literacy Tutoring, Tuesday, October 3, 10, 17 & 24 at 6:30pm                                                                      Do you need help with your digital literacy skills? Join us for tutoring sessions on topics including Google Drive, Microsoft, Email, and resume help.Registration is required as sessions are limited to 4 students.

Fraud Protection Seminar on Wednesday, October 4 at 11:00am                                                             Attendees will learn how to protect their information and assets from the growing number of frauds and scams in the current post-pandemic era. Sponsored by Bank of America in Clark, NJ.

English as a Second Language Tutoring on Wednesday, October 4, 11, 18, & 25 at 2pm                         The Clark Public Library hosts weekly English as a Second Language tutoring sessions. Registration is required as sessions are limited to 4 students.

LEGO Club on Friday, October 13 at 3:15pm

Create your own LEGO®  structures to be displayed in the Children’s area of the library! LEGO® are provided by the library. For children entering grades K – 5.

Solar Viewing Program on Saturday, October 14 at 12pm

Pearl Observatory will be visiting with their solar telescope for the partial solar eclipse happening this day! 

We will learn about space weather, view storms on the surface of the sun, see sunspots, solar flares, prominences on the sun, and learn about the sun’s rotation.  Clark residents with library cards have priority registration.

Union County Aging Services Kiosk on Monday, October 16 at 10am – 12pm

Do you have questions about services available in Union County for seniors or their caregivers? Come visit the Union County Aging Services Kiosk, speak to our specialist and get answers to your questions.

Teen Gaming Club on Monday, October 16 at 3pm

Drop by the library any time between 3:00 – 4:30pm for a fun afternoon of gaming. Play some Nintendo Switch games on our big screen or bring your own device. Snacks will be served! Open to Grades 6-12.

Watercolor Painting Class on Monday, October 16 at 7pm                                                                         Join artist Joy Ann Lara for a fall-themed watercolor painting class. Clark residents will receive priority registration.

New Jersey Paranormal on Thursday, October 17 at 7pm                                                                              Members of New Jersey Paranormal will be discussing famous New Jersey haunts.

Discover a World of Wonder:  Library Open House Extravaganza on Thursday, October 19 at 6:30pm-8:30pm                                                                                                                                                Join us for an evening of fall fun and learning! All patrons are welcome to enjoy some apple cider donuts and partake in fall games, contests and activities. Come have fun, meet our staff and learn about our new library catalog and app!  Pumpkin painting available for the first 100 participants. One pumpkin per person.

Teen Stress-Less: Paint Pouring on Friday, October 20 at 3pm

Teen Stress-Less is a series of programs designed to help teens unwind and relax. All Stress-Less programs focus on the process of making arts, crafts, and other projects. Come and try out some relaxing art techniques in a space that is designed to chat and enjoy the company of friends! Open to Grades 6 -12.

Evening Stories on Monday, October 23 at 6:30pm

Join us for a special evening storytime! Interactive stories, songs, and fun for children of all ages!  A simple craft follows. Registration is requested.

Teen Manga/ Anime Club: Spy X Family on Monday, October 23 at 7pm

Join us in our first Teen Manga/Anime Club! In each meeting participants will have the opportunity to share their art, work on a small Manga/Anime related craft, eat snacks, discuss current Manga/Anime reads, and watch 1-2 episodes of an anime. At this meeting we will learn to draw Bond Forger and watch episodes 1 & 2 of Spy X Family (PG-13).

Barks & Books on Tuesday, October 24 from 4pm-5pm

If you have a young, reluctant or struggling reader, we want you to meet our therapy dogs!  They are non-judgmental listeners and furry friends to read to that won’t laugh if your child makes a mistake or stumbles over a word. Children learn to associate reading with being with the dog, and begin to view reading in a positive way. Over time, the child’s reading ability and confidence can improve because they are practicing their skills. Children will each get approximately 15 minutes of reading time with Bubble & Magnolia.

[Adult & Teen Craft] DIY Ghost Portrait on Tuesday, October 24 at 6:30pm

Join us as we teach you how to make your very own ghost portrait. Clark residents will receive priority registration.

Books and Bagels on Wednesday, October 25 at 11am

Enjoy bagels and coffee while we chat about books you have been reading and learn what others in your community are reading as well.

Paint a Pumpkin for Kids on Wednesday, October 25 at 3:30pm

Join us for our annual Paint a Pumpkin event. Listen to a story about pumpkins and then paint a pumpkin to take home with you. This program is for ages 3 – grade 5. Registration is required and will close on Monday, October 23 at 10 am to ensure adequate supplies. Please wear old clothes, as we will be working with paint. Priority registration for Clark residents with library cards. All others will be on the pending waitlist until 48 hours before the event, if space remains.

Tinker Tots on Thursday, October 26 at 10am

Come join us for a morning of fun STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) activities perfect for little ones. Play is station based. For children ages 1 through pre-k. Please register.

Little Scientist on Thursday, October 26 at 3:30pm

Learn how to build and create with our Science Experiments! Each session will be a different experiment that will touch upon a different STEM skill.

Witchy Woman with Alisa Dupuy on Thursday, October 26 at 7pm

Join us for a “witchy”  time!  Learn about the history of witchcraft and Halloween as Actress Alisa Dupuy portrays Eliza Blackheart of the Breckenvale Coven. Sponsored by the Friends of the Clark Library.

Spooky Family Bingo on Monday, October 30 at 6:30pm

Families are invited to dress up in their Halloween costumes and join us for free family BINGO! We will play 2-3 rounds of Bingo, at least 1 traditional and 1 Halloween themed.

Spooky Snacks for Teens on Monday, October 30 at 7pm

Teens! Come make some spooky snacks to get in the Halloween spirit. We’ll be making (and snacking on): Milano Mummies, Pretzel Monsters, and S’mores Dip. Feel free to come dressed in costume.

Take & Makes for Preschoolers – Adults

Each month we have a new take-home craft to pick up and make at your leisure.  While supplies last, no registration.
