Please register for any programs through the online events calendar on our website at clarklibrary.org, in person, or by phone at 732-388-5999.

The library will be closed on Monday, February 19 for President’s Day.

It’s not too late to sign up for our annual Winter Reading Challenge for all ages in partnership with Clark Public Schools!  Adults and children count books read and middle and high schoolers count the number of pages read.  Visitclarklibrary.beanstack.org to sign up.  Children at FKH and VRS can just use the reading they already logged for school. Earn raffle tickets for prizes including gift cards and squishmallows!

Teen Advisory Board on Thursday, February 1 at 7pm

Teens – let your voice be heard at the library! The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) helps create, plan, and run teen programs and services they would like offered at the Clark Public Library. TAB participants work directly with the librarians to develop ideas and bring them to life. Our January/February meeting will be held at this time. We will begin spring programming and organizing a hot cocoa event for the end of the month. TAB is open to all teens in Grades 6-12. Teens in neighboring towns are always welcome to join. Pizza will be served at the beginning of the meeting. Please RSVP so that we can determine a pizza order!

Stories & More, Friday, February 2, 9 & 23 at 10am

Stories, movement, and songs followed by a simple craft for active listeners ages 3 – 5 years old. 

Registration is required.

Lego Lending Library Grand Opening Event on Sunday, February 4 from 2-4 pm

Stop by the library to check out our new Lego Lending Library created by a local boy scout for his Eagle Scout achievement!  The Lego Lending Library will allow Clark residents with library cards to check out Lego sets, just like you check out books!  Some sets may be brought home and some sets will be for in-library use only. Come see the amazing sets for all ages and be the first to check one out!

Tales for Tots, Mondays, February 5, 12 & 26 at 9:45am OR at 10:30 am

Stories and songs for active listeners. Geared toward ages 2-3 with a caregiver. 

Older children are welcome!  30 minutes of open play follows. Please register.

Teen Gaming Club, Monday, February 5 at 3pm

Drop in after school for a fun afternoon of gaming. We will set up our Nintendo Switch on the big screen and participants can choose from a range of games including Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart, and Just Dance. You can also bring your own system or laptop to game on. We have plenty of tables and chairs to set up for those interested in gaming as a group! Snacks will be served. Registration Required. Open to Grades 6-12.

Baby Bookworms, Tuesdays, February 6, 13, 20 & 27 at 10am

Join us for stories, songs, nursery rhymes, and movement activities. Geared toward the under 2 crowd with caregiver. 30 minutes of open play follows.

Barks & Books on Tuesdays, February 6 & 20 from 4-5 pm

If you have a young, reluctant or struggling reader, we want you to meet our therapy dogs!  They are non-judgmental listeners and furry friends to read to that won’t laugh if your child makes a mistake or stumbles over a word.  Registration is required. Children will each get approximately 15 minutes of reading time with Bubble & Magnolia.

Patches and Stitches on Tuesdays, February 6, 13, 20 & 27 from 12pm – 2pm

Bring your quilt or other crafty project and visit with the members of the quilting club.

Krafty Kids on Wednesday, February 7 at 3:30pm

Join us as we make some fun and creative artwork! Don’t forget to bring your imagination and creativity! Registration is required. Geared for entering Kindergarten-5th grade.

ASK (Aging Services Kiosk) on Thursday, February 8 at 10am-12pm

An Evening with Martha Washington on Thursday, February 8 at 7pm

Join actress Alisa Dupuy as she portrays our first First Lady Martha Washington. 

Teen Stress-Less: Origami Rose on Monday, February 12 at 3:30pm

Teen Stress-Less is a series of programs designed to help teens unwind and relax. Come and try out some relaxing art techniques in a space that is designed to chat and enjoy the company of friends! Join us in February where we will be practicing the ancient art of paper folding. Each participant will craft a beautiful origami paper rose. Open to grades 6-12. Registration is required. Snacks will be served.

Join artist Joy Ann Lara as we create Valentine cards decorated with origami hearts.

Time Matters: A Women’s Retirement Outlook on Wednesday, February 14 at 11am

Join us for this educational program that shares perspectives on financial concerns facing women who are getting ready or have recently transitioned to retirement. Presented by Edward Jones.

Drop-In Valentine’s Day Craft for Kids on Wednesday, February 14 from 3:00pm-4:30pm

Stop by the Kid’s Corner of the library to make a craft for Valentine’s Day.  Geared toward pre-schoolers through elementary school aged children.

Tinker Tots on Thursday, February 15 at 10:30am

Come join us for a morning of fun STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) activities perfect for little ones. Play is station based. For children ages 1 through pre-k. Please register.

USA Karate & Fitness Martial Arts Class for Kids on Friday, February 16 at 10am

USA Karate & Fitness will be hosting a free 30 minute kid’s martial arts class!  For ages 2 and up.  Please register.

Dungeons & Dragons: Teen One-Shot on Friday, February 16 at 3:15pm

Calling all (teen) adventurers! Join us for a Dungeons & Dragons one-shot. Adventurers will decide together which job to take off of a quest board, and then the fun begins! No experience (or character) necessary, but helpful. Please leave a comment in the notes during registration if you would need a pre-made character to play. Open to teens 12+. Registration required to form groups. Snacks will be provided!

The Underground Railroad and New Jersey on Tuesday, February 20 at 7pm

New Jersey was a vital corridor for the Underground Railroad, allowing enslaved people to escape to safer localities in the North. New Jersey was also the last northern state to abolish slavery in 1866. Join author and historian Rick Geffken as he discusses this important topic and his book “Stories of Slavery in New Jersey.” 

Cozy Hot Cocoa Night on Thursday, February 22 at 6:00pm

Cozy up at the library for our second Hot Cocoa Night! Beat the winter blues by joining us for this fun event. The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) will be running a “build your own” hot cocoa station. Customize your perfect hot cocoa by choosing from a selection of toppings! When you are all done, find a spot to cozy up and watch a family-friendly movie. We invite all participants to come in PJs – feel free to bring a blanket or stuffed animal as well! There will be food served at this event. Labels will be available upon request. The Teen Advisory Board will select an all-ages movie to show at their meeting early in the month. Please check back here in early February to see what movie we will be showing.

LEGO Master Builders on Friday, February 23 at 3:15pm

Create your own LEGO®  structures to be displayed in the Children’s area of the library! LEGO® are provided by the library. For children entering grades K – 5.  Light snacks will be served.

Take Your Child to the Library Day on Saturday, February 24 from 9:30am-5pm

Bring your child to the library today!  Each child that checks out a book at our library today will get a raffle ticket for a $25 Barnes & Noble gift card! For babies through grade 5.  Winning ticket will be drawn on the afternoon of Monday, 2/26.

Eyes of the Wild Animal Show on Saturday, February 24 at 11:30am

Celebrate Take Your Child to the Library day with a visit from live animals with our special guest:  Eyes of the Wild!  Families will get a chance to meet and learn about these unique animals.  

Eyes Of The Wild is an exotic animal rescue in New Jersey that provides a home to over 175 animals.

Little Scientist on Thursday, February 29 at 3:30pm

Learn how to build and create with our Science Experiments! Each session will be a different experiment that will touch upon a different STEM skill. 

Take & Makes for Preschoolers – Adults

Each month we have a new take-home craft to pick up and make at your leisure.  While supplies last, no registration.
