Please register for any programs through the online calendar on our website at clarklibrary.org, in person, by phone at 732-388-5999, or by email at reference@clarklibrary.org and state which program you would like to attend.

The library will be closed on the following dates:

Stories & More, Fridays, December 1 & 8 at 10am

Stories, movement, songs followed by a simple craft for active listeners ages 3 – 5 years old.

Registration is required.

Tales for Tots, Monday, December 4 at 10am

Stories and songs for active listeners.Geared toward ages 2-3 with a caregiver.

Older children are welcome!  30 minutes of open play follows.

Baby Bookworms, Tuesday, December 5 at 10am

Join us for stories, songs, nursery rhymes, and movement activities. Geared toward the under 2 crowd with caregiver. 30 minutes of open play follows.Clark residents with library cards have priority registration. All others will be on the pending waitlist until 48 hours before the event if space remains.

Patches and Stitches on Tuesdays, December 5, 12, 19 & 26 from 12pm-2pm

Bring your quilt or other crafty project and visit with the members of the quilting club.

Afternoon Book Club on Tuesday, December 5 at 1pm

Join us for our next afternoon book club meeting. We will be discussing “Henry, Himself” by Stewart O’Nan.

Totally New Tuesdays on December 5, 12, & 26 at 6:30pm

Enjoy a new movie for adults just released to DVD on our big screen. Please check our online calendar or visit the library to check the movies being shown.

Krafty Kids on Wednesday, December 6 at 3:30pm

Join us as we make some fun and creative artwork! Don’t forget to bring your imagination and creativity! Registration is required. Geared for entering Kindergarten-5th grade.

Union County Aging Services Kiosk (ASK) on Monday, December 11 at 10am – 12pm

Do you have questions about services available in Union County for seniors or their caregivers? Come visit the Union County Aging Services Kiosk, speak to our specialist and get answers to your questions.

Teen Advisory Board (TAB) on Monday, December 11 at 3:15pm

The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) helps create, plan, and run teen programs and services they would like offered at the Clark Public Library. These programs and services may be for teens by teens, or they may be for other members of our library and larger community.TAB participants work directly with the librarians to develop ideas and bring them to life. Our November meeting will focus on outreach, a Teen publication, and discussing how things are running in the teen department.TAB is open to all teens in Grades 6-12. Teens in neighboring towns are always welcome to join.Pizza and snacks will be served at the beginning of the meeting. Please RSVP so that we can determine how much pizza to order!

Evening Stories on Monday, December 11 at 6:30pm

Join us for a special evening storytime! Interactive stories, songs, and fun for children of all ages!  A simple craft follows. Registration is requested.

Holiday Watercolor Painting Class on Monday, December 11 at 7pm

Join artist Joy Ann Lara as you create a holiday watercolor painting. Clark residents with library cards have priority registration. All others will be on the pending waitlist until 48 hours before the event if space remains.

Barks & Books on Tuesday, December 12 from 4pm-5pm

If you have a young, reluctant or struggling reader, we want you to meet our therapy dogs!  They are non-judgmental listeners and furry friends to read to that won’t laugh if your child makes a mistake or stumbles over a word. Children learn to associate reading with being with the dog, and begin to view reading in a positive way. Over time, the child’s reading ability and confidence can improve because they are practicing their skills.  Children will each get approximately 15 minutes of reading time with Bubble or Magnolia.

Tinker Tots on Thursday, December 14 at 10am

Come join us for a morning of fun STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) activities perfect for little ones. Play is station based. For children ages 1 through pre-k. Please register.

Little Scientist on Thursday, December 14 at 3:30pm

Learn how to build and create with our Science Experiments! Each session will be a different experiment that will touch upon a different STEM skill. Geared for K – 6.Registration is required.

Teen Stress-Less: Pom-Pom Cacti on Friday, December 15 at 3:30pm

Teen Stress-Less is a series of programs designed to help teens unwind and relax. All Stress-Less programs focus on the process of making arts, crafts, and other projects. Come and try out some relaxing art techniques in a space that is designed to chat and enjoy the company of friends!

PomPom Cacti: Join us for this relaxing program where we will make pompom cacti in terracotta pots. After we make our pompoms, we will shape them into a cactus shape and secure them in the pot, creating a no-maintenance “cactus” to display on your desk, on a bookshelf, or in your locker!

Open to grades 6 – 12. Registration is required.

TAB Teen Gaming Club – Mario Kart Live on Monday, December 18 at 3pm

The Teen Advisory Board will be working on creating a Mario Kart Live winter wonderland circuit for a program later in the month. Not a TAB member? Stop by to see what TAB is all about! Snacks will be served. Registration Required.Open to Grades 6-12.

Teen Make a Gingerbread House on Tuesday, December 19 at 3:15pm

Build your own “gingerbread” house with graham crackers. Drop in after school until 4:15 to build a gingerbread house. We will have everything you need to build a unique and edible creation. Learn a few frosting tips in the process! For teens in grades 6-12.We will be using food products. Ingredient labels will be available for any allergy concerns.

Raconteur Radio Presents A Christmas Carol

Tuesday, December 19 at 7:00pm

Adapted from Charles Dickens’ holiday ghost story, this staged radio drama tells the story of misanthropic pinchpenny named Ebenezer Scrooge and his transformation after the supernatural visits of Jacob Marley and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come. Featuring period costumes, theatrical lighting, Golden Age radio equipment, vintage commercials, and sound effects!

Books & Bagels on Friday, December 22 at 10am

Enjoy bagels and coffee while we chat about books you have been reading and learn what others in your community are reading as well.

Duplo Bingo on Wednesday, December 27 at 10am

Duplo Animal Bingo is a new twist on a fun, classic game.  Preschoolers pick a building card enabling them to construct their animal by collecting the corresponding bricks as they are drawn.  As they build the colorful and simple models, they engage in shape and color recognition and matching.  Preschoolers will explore collaborative play as they communicate and work with other children, follow game rules and take turns.Clark residents with library cards have priority registration.  All others will be on the pending waitlist until 48 hours before the event if space allows.

Drop-in New Year’s Craft for Kids on Thursday, December 28 from 2pm-4pm

Drop by the library to make a craft for your New Year’s Eve celebration!

Cozy Comfort Night at Clark Library on Thursday, December 28 from 6pm – 8pm

Join us for a night of cozy comforts at the library! Pop by the library with your pj’s, favorite stuffy or blanket. Enjoy creating your specialized hot chocolate at our cocoa station. After, we will watch a holiday themed movie for all to enjoy. All ages welcome!

Finger Painting Friday on Friday, December 29 at 10am

No childhood is complete without some good, old-fashioned, messy finger painting.We will read a story and then make some squishy, colorful creations.  Wear some old clothes!Clark residents with library cards have priority registration.  All others will be on the pending waitlist until 48 hours before the event if space remains.

LEGO Club on Friday, December 29 at 3pm

Create your own LEGO®  structures to be displayed in the Children’s area of the library! LEGO® are provided by the library. For children entering grades K – 5.  Light snacks will be served.

Take & Makes for Preschoolers – Adults

Each month we have a new take-home craft to pick up and make at your leisure.  While supplies last, no registration.
