Chatham and Madison Outstanding Key Club Members Named at Kiwanis Meeting

The Kiwanis Club of the Chathams/Madison was proud to present the award for Outstanding Key Club Member at their November 27, 2018 Meeting.

The Chatham High School Key Club awarded Owen Truppo for his dedication and genuine care for the Key club and all of the efforts they pursue each year. As a freshman last year, Owen immediately sought a role beyond that of a general member. He ran for grade level representative and was the liaison between the Key Club officers and the freshman members of the club, disseminating information as needed and reaching out to underactive members to encourage them to participate in upcoming events. Owen reprised this role for the 2018-2019 school year but has consistently acted in excess of the requirements of a grade level rep, as he has pursued fundraising efforts, and has been present at all club meetings.

The Madison High School Key Club selected Benjamin Waksman for his active membership for the past 4 years. He has handled secretarial duties such as spreadsheets for attendance in a meticulous and thorough fashion. He is always the first one to ask if help is needed. His warm personality helps to keep members engaged. He juggles a full course load, including varsity sports and other extracurricular activities, yet always makes the Key Club a priority.

The Kiwanis Club Meetings are held at Charlie Brown’s Steakhouse in Chatham, and are always open for guests! Any inquiries feel free to reach out to Justin Montanaro at jmontanaro@pineacresrehab.com
