Building for the Future – help us reach our goal

Building for the Future

Chatham Emergency Squad

Many of you have seen the lawn signs at the homes of your friends and neighbors who have supported our renovation project. “Proud Supporter of the Building for the Future” they say. We are so grateful for those supporters – both their financial contribution and the support for the work we do.

There are a few important points about the Chatham Emergency Squad I’d like to make in the hopes that you too will consider supporting our campaign:

#1 – your tax dollars do not support the Chatham Emergency Squad. Both the Borough and the Township make contributions to CES and support us in a variety of non-cash ways, but our bills, and our building campaign are almost 100% paid for by contributions from our public.

#2 – we serve both the Borough AND the Township

#3 – we are ALL-VOLUNTEER. No one gets paid for their time working with CES as an EMT or for the large number of additional jobs our members do to keep our Squad running.

#4 – we never charge for our services. This means no charges to you, or any patient, ever.

#5 – no paid model could ever deliver the level of service we deliver to the Chatham community. We’re available 24/7. We can, and frequently do, put two or three ambulances in service, requiring members beyond our duty crew to pick up and answer the call. PLUS, we provide service at CHS varsity football games (a state requirement) and at so many other community events, always AT NO CHARGE.

We are proud to be able to provide free services. To be certain we can continue to do that, we are anticipating the needs of our growing community and ensuring we attract the volunteers that keep us strong and responsive. By renovating, upgrading, and enhancing our buildings, we will ensure that we meet both these needs. We can’t do it without your support of our campaign – Building for the Future.

Thank you for your support,

Evan Skinner, President, Chatham Emergency Squad
