Calvary Lutheran Church to Host “Climate Fair”
Focusing on Taking Care of God’s Earth

On Sunday, September 15, 2019, Calvary Lutheran Church in Cranford will host a Climate Fair from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. The fair will focus on “Taking Care of God’s Earth” and will feature ways everyone can take action to protect the planet on which we live. Activities planned include a used shoe collection (especially athletic shoes) for Soles4Souls, building compost boxes and hands-on learning activities for young children. Calvary will also give a reusable shopping bag to everyone who turns in 25 plastic shopping bags for recycling.

The Climate Fair is Calvary’s way of engaging in service work on “God’s Work, Our Hands” Sunday, a day set aside by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) for members to make a positive change in their community and share God’s love. Calvary is just one of nearly 9,100 congregations participating in this special day of service.

More information on the September 15th Climate Fair can be found on the church’s website, calvarycranford.com.
