Boy Scout Troop 129 of Green Brook Volunteering Successes

By Atharva Kalyanpur

Boy Scout Troop 129 of Green Brook has done it again! On February 10, 2018, Troop 129 volunteered as a troop at the Community Food Bank of New Jersey at 31 Evans Terminal, Hillside, New Jersey. The troop has wholeheartedly embraced volunteering and has cleaned up the lawns of Senior Citizens, cleaned up the Green Brook River, and has already gone on a visit to the food bank; all in the past few months. This time 13 scouts were accompanied by nine adults to volunteer at the food bank. The troop packed 800 bags consisting of rice, pancake mix, beef stew, and juice. These packages will be given to students and their families. Volunteering is a key component of scouting and this troop definitely does their best to volunteer and help out others. Troop 129 meets every Wednesday from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Green Brook Middle School, 132 Jefferson Avenue, Green Brook, New Jersey Cafeteria when school is in session.
