Boy Scouts from Long Hill Troop #56 and St. Vincent De Paul Troop #59 pulled together to make this holiday season a brighter one for local families in need.
In early November, scouts hand-distributed fliers asking residents to leave bags of non-perishable foods outside their homes for pickup, making it a convenient way to donate to the Long Hill Food Pantry. This year, Long Hill residents answered that call with thousands of canned goods and boxed donations to benefit their needy neighbors. Scouts enthusiastically spent the day picking up donations, sorting the items and stocking the pantry. More than 30 local families will have access to this bounty, which is located at St. Vincent De Paul Church. Other pantries throughout New Jersey will also benefit from this effort.
