Arts Festival on Waverly Place
The Madison Arts and Culture Alliance, Downtown Development Commission, and Madison Area Chamber of Commerce are presenting a new fall festival, “Fall Back into the Arts” on Fridays concluding on November 6. The performances will take place from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Waverly Place. The event is free and open to the public.
Madison Arts and Culture Alliance (MACA) Director of Arts and Events, Eric Hafen responsible for the entertainment for the event, noted that, “In stressful times, the arts have always been a welcome avenue for escape. The variety of entertainment in this series will make you smile, make you laugh, and make you want to dance. Come on down, you won’t be disappointed.”
In addition to scheduled entertainment, this event will also feature business showcases, tables and chairs to enjoy takeout from local restaurants. Madison Area Chamber of Commerce President John Morris, added, “Waverly Place is the heart of Madison and is just beautiful in the fall. We invite everyone to enjoy the great outdoor entertainment and to shop, dine, and play at our local businesses.” In addition, on Friday, October 30 the Madison Volunteer Ambulance Corps Annual Trunk or Treat is planned to coincide with the arts festival.
The entertainment schedule is as follows:
October 9 – Stand-Up Comedy
October 16 – Renaissance Jazz Band & Swing Dancers
October 23 – GVRL
October 30 – Work of Heart Children’s Interactive “Wizard of Oz” and MMA/MHS Musical Theater Students
November 6 – The Thorns
Patrons are encouraged to bring their own chairs. Safety will be the highest priority and all COVID-19 protocols will be followed including social distancing, mandatory wearing masks, and if necessary crowd size will be limited.
