Army Values Award Presented At Linden High School

A Linden High School NJROTC Cadet was awarded the Hoops Hysteria Tour “Student Athlete award” for displaying the seven core Army Values at Linden High School’s basketball game on February 18th. Cadet Commander Geraldine Salazar (Senior), the regimental operations Officer, was honored as the recipient.

Many people know what the words Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage mean. But how often do you see someone actually live up to them?
Linden High School is fortunate to have two heroes that live up to these standards on a daily basis. Also at the Linden High School basketball game,  the Army and Linden-honored Major Kevin Thurston, a Vice Principal at Linden High School and Sergeant First Class Derrick Potts, a Linden High School History Teacher.
These Veterans of our country learned these values in detail during Basic Combat Training (BCT), and continue living them every day in all they do.
We thank them for their service and for being outstanding role models to our youth.
