ALJ Crusaders Marching Band Wins 1st Place at Tournament Of Bands

ALJ Crusaders Marching Band

The ALJ Crusaders Marching Band came in 1st Place during the Tournament Of Bands held on Oct. 17that Governor Livingston High School in Berkeley Heights.

Highlights of the event: ALJ won the Best Drum Major Award, (Kaitlyn Diaz); the High Percussion Award; the High Music Award; and the band took home first place in a competition against Manchester High School.

Under the direction of Mr. Erik Krebl, ALJ Music Director, and Mr. Andrew Calo, Assistant Music Director, ALJ went from 21st place to 13th place in group 1A, out of 52 competitive bands. Going from a score of 77.980 to 83.330 in a single week, that’s an incredible jump!

We owe many, many thanks to the parents assisting with the equipment truck pick up and drop off, loading, unloading, as well as moving the equipment onto the field during the performance. Special thanks go to Mrs. Jennifer Czech and Mrs. Lisa Nielsen as well as the entire MPA of Clark, (Music Parents Association).
