Clark PD Promotions and 2022 Awards

Four Clark Police officers took an oath in front of the Town Council and their families during the June 20, 2022 public meeting as they were promoted to new positions within the department.
Ricardo Oliveira and Sergio Henriques were promoted to Lieutenant during the ceremony. Henriques came to Clark from the Newark Police Department in 2011 and was promoted to sergeant in 2019. Oliveira began his career with the Newark Police and came to Clark in 2012. In 2017 he was promoted to Sergeant. He is the recipient of seven life-saving awards, two honorable service award and two written commendations in his 13-year career.
Andrew Medeiros and Mark Detore were promoted to Detective. Medeiros began his work in law enforcement in the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office. After more than eight years, he came to the Clark Police department where he served as a patrolman. He also spent two years with the Union County Prosecutor’s office Homicide Task Force. During his time in Clark, Medeiros earned a lifesaving award and an honorable service award.
Detore started his career as an Essex County Corrections Officer in 2010. Since coming to Clark in 2015 he has had numerous responsibilities and duties. He is a DARE instructor and has been serving in the role of Youth Aide Detective since February of 2022.
Mayor Sal Bonaccorso and Captain Chris Lott presided over the promotions. Lott himself was recently promoted. After starting in Clark in January of 2009, he became a sergeant in 2014, a Detective Sergeant in 2017, Lieutenant in 2020 and now Captain. Along the way Lott was awarded two lifesaving awards, platoon awards and distinguished service awards. He also received 12 awards for DUI enforcement. Lott has served as the Drug Recognition Expert Instructor since 2016.
During the same meeting, numerous officers and team members were recognized as a part of the 2022 Clark Police Departmental Awards.
