Donation Honors Edith Coogan

Cranford Knights of Columbus

During a Celebration of Life held on Sunday, April 24th for Edith Coogan, who passed away earlier this year, the Cranford Knights of Columbus donated $2,000 to Raphael’s Life House (RLH), an organization that the Cranford Council has supported financially and in many other ways since opening its doors in 1993.

The Cranford Council also had a close and long-standing relationship with Edie and her husband Jack who were long-time parishioners and volunteers in many ministries at St. Michael’s Church.

Edie started Raphael’s Life House with her friend Mary Orrico, and they transformed an abandoned convent into a real home where homeless pregnant mothers could live for a year with their new babies. Since opening its doors, RLH has helped and assisted over 700 new families.

In 2013, RLH joined with Covenant House New Jersey and currently provides a safe haven for young families. The Cranford Council has and will continue to help and support this worthy organization.

The Cranford Knights of Columbus is a Catholic Fraternal Organization dedicated to our Four Core Principles, Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism. The Cranford Council supports many charities and civic causes locally, state-wide, and nationally and is committed to be a viable part of our community. For information about joining the Cranford Council, please contact our Grand Knight Jerry Conheeney at 908-416-3464 or visit the Council web site at cranfordknights.org.
