KHS offers two new events that are sure to put the fun in fundraising!

Trip to Wind Creek Bethlehem Casino

On Saturday, March 26, KHS will host a bus trip to Wind Creek Bethlehem Casino in Bethlehem, Pa. The bus will depart from St. Theresa’s School parking lot at 8:30 a.m. and return to Kenilworth at approximately 5:30 p.m. The cost of $48 includes comfortable motor coach transportation, an approximate 6-hour visit to the casino, and $25 in free slot play. There will be complimentary door prizes on the bus. Space is limited, so please sign up by March 10 to secure your spot.

The casino offers more than 3,000 state-of-the-art slot machines ranging in denomination from 1 cent to $100 and more than 150 table games. The Wind Creek Bethlehem site also houses a wide range of distinctive outlet stores and popular restaurants and eateries.

A Refreshingly New Wine Tasting

On Friday, April 1, KHS will host a refreshingly new wine-tasting event at the historic Oswald J. Nitschke House—a living history museum and cultural arts center located at 49 South 21 Street in Kenilworth. The enlightening, enjoyable evening of wine sampling and discussion will feature a broad selection of new organic, vegan wines paired with assorted cheeses, chocolates, and Girl Scout cookies.

The two-hour wine tasting event will begin at 7 p.m., so participants are asked to arrive by 6:30 p.m. Admission is $30 per person. Reservations are required, as seating is limited. For reservations or further information, please call 908-709-0434.

Participants will have an opportunity to visit the Nitschke House museum’s five historic rooms and view the current exhibit, 100 Years and More of Votes for Women.

Proceeds from both fundraisers will benefit the Oswald J. Nitschke House by helping defray building and operating expenses, including the cost of an elevator that makes the restored site fully accessible to everyone.

The Kenilworth Historical Society is an independent, volunteer-based, non-profit, tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the research, preservation, and interpretation of the Oswald J. Nitschke House, local history, and culture. Visit kenilworthhistoricalsociety.org
