Inspired by Federico Fellini’s “Nights of Cabiria,” Sweet Charity explores the turbulent love life of Charity Hope Valentine, a hopelessly romantic but comically unfortunate dance hall hostess in 1960s New York City. Charity is determined to change her life for the better after being unceremoniously dumped by her latest boyfriend Charlie. Singing, dancing, laughing and crying her way through one misadventure after the next, Charity joins a host of other vibrant characters as she embarks on a wild ride and quest for love. In the end, Charity realizes, as many of us do as well, that the real answer to happiness lies somewhere inside her hope and her heart.
Nominated for nine Tony Awards, the electrifying musical comedy features the breathtaking choreography of the legendary Bob Fosse, and musical theatre classics like “Big Spender” and “If My Friends Could See Me Now.”
