2023 Community Conversation
The Florham Park Public Library partners with the Florham Park Education Foundation every year to conduct a community conversation on ways to work together to make Florham Park a better place! These discussions follow a dialog-to-action structure intended to encourage participants to work together toward a common cause. This year ‘The Connected Community: Discovering the Health, Wealth, and Power of Neighborhoods’ by Cormac Russell will be used as a discussion guide.
Last year, Florham Park’s reputation as a “Community of Volunteers” was discussed with the goal of discovering ways to increase the ranks of people who donate their time to support goings-on around town. The result was a community calendar that advertises different events and meetings happening in Florham Park, and the Library’s “All About Florham Park Day.”
Community Conversations are open to all Florham Park residents to participate. Registration is strongly encouraged, but not strictly necessary. The first 30 people to sign up will receive a complimentary copy of The Connected Community to keep for their personal collection.
This year’s conversation will continue on the theme of civic participation and volunteerism and will take place on Tuesday evenings, February 21 and 28, and March 7, (Wednesday) 15, and 21 at 7:00 p.m. The first and last meetings will take place in person at the Library; the others will be held virtually.
