2023 Rahway Elks Annual Flag Day Ritual
In July of 1908, the Elks’ Grand Lodge provided for the annual nationwide observance of Flag Day on the 14th of June each year, making it mandatory for each subordinate Lodge in the Order. June 14 was officially established as Flag Day by a proclamation by President Woodrow Wilson in 1916.
This year the Rahway Elks is hosting the annual Flag Day celebration on Sunday, June 11th at 12pm. We will have guests from scout clubs in the area, Americanism Essay contest winners from Roosevelt School, local politicians, and more. The Flag Day ritual will be followed by a celebratory lunch. This event is free of charge and open to the public. If you are interested in attending please see our flier for more information and fill out the google form at http://flagday.rahwayelks.org/. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out to Americanism Chair, Kristina Petti at kristinarahwayelks@gmail.com.
