It’s been five years since Mountainside’s Levi Cory House was moved to Constitution Plaza. After extensive repairs and restoration work, the historic Levi Cory House is now ready for the public and it looks fantastic. The Holiday Boutique which has previously been open in the Hetfield House has now moved to the adjacent Levi Cory House with an extended schedule. The public is invited to check out the Levi Cory House and shop the newly expanded Holiday Boutique.
The Levi Cory House Holiday Boutique will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the following days: Friday & Saturday, November 16 & 17; Friday and Saturday, November 30 and December 1; and, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, December 7, 8 & 9. The Levi Cory House is located on Constitution Plaza, off Birch Hill Road.
Come by for a large selection of handmade ornaments and crafts, seasonal decorations, jewelry, unique gift items and collectibles at very affordable prices. With the increased space in the Levi Cory House, there is also a great selection of home accents and occasional furniture. Sandy VanderMeer who oversees the Holiday Boutique for the Restoration Committee, states that “The Boutique has taken on a completely new look with the expansion into several rooms. Shoppers will find a great selection of items for the home and for gift-giving.” There is also a good selection of very affordable gift items for children’s gift giving, so bring the kids to shop for their gift list. Stop by and support the Mountainside Historic Committee. All sales benefit the maintenance and restoration of the Hetfield and Levi Cory houses.
The Deacon Andrew Hetfield House is located at Constitution Plaza (Watchung Ave., off Birch Hill Rd.) adjacent to the Mountainside Library. The Mountainside Historic Committee is a 501 (c)(3) charity and a committee of volunteers whose purpose is to maintain the circa 1760 Deacon Andrew Hetfield House, restore the circa 1818 Levi Cory House and collect and save historic information and items from destruction.
