Seven new police officers were sworn in to the ranks of the Linden Police Department on January 16, 2014 before an audience filled with family, friends, city officials, and brother officers. The new hires fill the void from retirements in 2013 and bring the department’s complement up to 120 officers. Mayor Gerbounka and Chief Schulhafer welcomed the new officers to the department. The recruits will begin training at the Union County Police Academy later this month.
