Edison Intermediate School Speaker Series on Mental Health and Wellness
Mental health and wellness is the important focus of a new speaker series at Edison Intermediate School. The series is sponsored by a team of EIS educators including school counselors Lori Bercovicz, Kimberly Lisnock, and Kerri Webster, nurse/health educators Martha Fico and Patricia Kelly and school resource officer Tiffany Kenny.
Each presentation begins at 7 p.m. in the EIS auditorium and is open to the public at no cost. Additional information, including how to register for each presentation, will be available soon on the school website at edison.westfieldnjk12.org.
November 18, 2019 – Sean Foley of Prevention Links presents This is Your Brain on Phones: Smartphone and Technology Overuse, a guide to ensure the safety and wellbeing of families on this road of rapid technological breakthroughs.
January 23, 2020 – Screenagers: Next Chapter, a 60-minute film to help young people thrive in our screen- and stress-filled world.
February 11, 2020 – Navigating Teen Life, a Q&A conversation with an expert panel of mental health professionals.
March 10, 2020 – Dr. Michael Fowlin presents You Don’t Know Me Until You Know Me: A Celebration of Differences, a guide to building resiliency and self-esteem in your teen.
