To gain a deeper appreciation of the culture and language they have been studying in school, 13 students from Westfield High School traveled to Italy during Spring break with their teachers Maria Santilli and Lyn Aleksandrowicz. Pictured here in April near the Coliseum, the girls also visited the Vatican and the Sistine Chapel in Rome as well as historical town squares and monuments. After spending two days in Florence, they traveled to Venice via Verona where they visited the balcony of Romeo and Juliet. In Venice they saw a glassblowing demonstration and toured along the Grand Canal on a gondola. The towns of Assisi and Orvieto were also included in the culture packed itinerary.
