Boy Scouts of America, Patriots’ Path Council honored local citizens at the annual Boy Scouts of America Union Lifetime Achievement Awards Dinner held on June 8, 2016 at The Shackamaxon Country Club in Scotch Plains.
The event recognized outstanding citizens for their community service, as evidenced by their leadership and interests within the Union County community, and for their embodiment of the values of the century old Scout Oath and Law in their personal and professional lives.
Christopher and Timothy Boyle are Westfield natives that have owned 16 Prospect Wine Bar & Bistro in Westfield since 2001. 16 Prospect hosts annual benefits for Brendon’s Meadows Animal Rescue, The Center for Hope, Bonds of Courage which helps veterans and their families and S., Joseph’s Food Bank.
Gene Jannotti is the Executive Director of the Greater Westfield Area Chamber of Commerce (GWACC), which serves Fanwood, Garwood, Mountainside, Scotch Plains, and Westfield. He has grown the Chamber from 280 members to 500 in just 22 months and has expanded its reach and activities. Gene has co-produced two “Dancing with the Stars” charity events for Children’s Specialized Hospital, raising over $80,000. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Union County Performing Arts Center and the Trinitas Hospital Foundation.
Gene has been a member of the Livingston Masonic Lodge for 25 years and is the Chairman of their Board of Trustees.
Union County is a part of the Patriots’ Path Council, Boy Scouts of America which serves over 16,000 youth in over 400 Scouting units in communities throughout Union, Middlesex, Somerset, Sussex, and Morris Counties.
