At its October 15, 2019 meeting, the Westfield Board of Education approved the appointment of Sean McArthur as Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds for the Westfield Public School District, effective January 1, 2020. McArthur succeeds Michael Morris who will retire on December 31 after 25 years of service.
“Mr. McArthur has extensive experience in landscaping, facilities management, and maintenance,” said Business Administrator Dana Sullivan. “We look forward to welcoming him to the district in January.”
McArthur currently serves as Educational Facilities Manager in Lacey Township Public Schools where he supervises 57 custodial, maintenance and grounds personnel, maintains all buildings, grounds, and athletic fields, coordinates inclement weather responses, oversees on-demand projects and the repair and purchase of equipment and works closely with administration, architects, and engineers on larger projects.
Prior to working in Lacey Township, McArthur was facilities manager with the Aramark Corporation and operations foreman/budget manager in the East Brunswick School District.
“I really appreciate the opportunity to join this wonderful school district,” McArthur told board members upon his approval, adding that he understands and takes very seriously the importance of the position.
