The next outdoor community event organized by the Westfield Historical Society will be Applefest. The event will take place at the Reeve House on Saturday, September 30, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and will host numerous activities based on the theme of the 1930s and 40s. There will be music and dancing, movie clips in the Apple Cinema, an informative history-walk, children’s books exhibits, talks regarding the Enigma machine, information on the history of the NFL, art and trivia contests, old-fashioned children’s games, information about the history of the Works Progress Administration (WPA) projects around the Westfield area, 30s- and 40s-themed food at the Apple Cafe, and the Historical Society’s famous apple pie baking contest. The popular guided tours of the Reeve House will also be available.
