WHS Student Reporters Receive Prestigious Recognition

Westfield Public Schools

The Westfield High School student newspaper, Hi’s Eye, has been named “Most Outstanding High School Weekly Newspaper for 2023-2024” nationwide by the American Scholastic Press Association. The Hi’s Eye also received “First Place with Special Merit,” which is given to a student publication that scores more than 950 out of 1,000 points and, in the opinion of the reviewer, is an outstanding overall example of a scholastic publication in format, content, and presentation.

Hi’s Eye Sports received first place recognition, whileHi’s Eye reporter Gianna Puglisi was one of four student journalists in the country to be recognized for “Outstanding Investigative Reporting” for her article, “Emotions Run High at October Board of Education Meeting.”
