Performances, Exhibitions and Classes

The Watchung Arts Center

The Watchung Arts Center (WAC) will kick off this Spring Season by streaming LIVE music from different genres including Folk-Rock, Classical and Banjo. Join us for a spectacular concert featuring Folk-Rock artist Chip Mergott on Saturday, May 8 at 8 p.m. Next, enjoy an exquisite evening of classical music by virtuoso pianist Sophia Agranovich on Saturday, May 22 at 8 p.m. Further, tune into the internationally renowned Tony Trischka, the man who made the banjo bigger, jazzier and more worldly, on Saturday, June 5 at 8 p.m. Due to the Pandemic all these Concerts will be streamed live from the Watchung Arts Center to the comfort and safety of your home via Zoom.

Each month, the WAC typically displays the work of local and professional artists in its two galleries. Due to COVID, the Center has scheduled a virtual screening of the art exhibitions on its website. The Watchung Arts Center’s Members Exhibition showcases the work of Ruth Brown, Albert E. Cook, Jr., Virginia Carroll, Charlann Meluso, Bryan Murray, Monica Schraiber Otero and Cecilly B. Sullivan.

In addition to its performance and exhibit schedule, the Watchung Arts Center also offers classes for adults and children. The Spring Yoga Session lasts from April 6 to June 18 and offers Gentle, Restorative, and Level II/III Iyengar Classes. Children’s classes in Drawing and Painting Enrichment are also slated to run from April 12 to June 7. In view of the current and uncertain times all these classes are being offered virtually.

The Watchung Arts Center, located at 18 Stirling Road in Watchung on the Watchung Circle, is a multi-disciplinary arts facility serving Watchung, the surrounding communities and the Tri-State Area.
