Warrenbrook Senior Center celebrates Diwali

Warrenbrook Diwali Celebration 2022

Warrenbrook Senior Center is one of the six Somerset county-operated Senior Wellness Centers that celebrated Diwali on Friday, October 21st, 2022. Diwali is the festival of lights that symbolizes victory of good over evil, light over darkness and knowledge over ignorance.

The senior community came together and watched the live Indian classical dance performed by Nirupamaa Chandrasekaran, Founder & Artistic  Director of the Institute of Indian dance music & culture. The Montgomery Volunteers Harinee and Nandini gave a presentation on importance and history of Diwali celebrated by South Asians. The seniors also participated in Indian Dance (Dandiya) and made sand art (rangoli). As we have clients from across the globe in all the six county-operated senior centers they celebrate and respect all the cultures with great zeal and enthusiasm. The senior centers are open during the weekdays from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. for activities and congregate meals. We provide transportation to the clients who are unable to drive. Please call (908) 753-9440 if you need any further information.
