Warren Lions Club Honors Members
Submitted by Arjun Singh
Warren Lions Club members Fred Schaan and Lee Budd were recently honored with the Marshall Klein Knights for Vision Fellowship.
This Fellowship is made available by Eversight, a Lions supported Eye Bank, formerly known as the Lions Eye Bank of New Jersey. Marshall Klein served as the Executive Director of the Lions Sight Foundation for 20 years, Executive Director of the Eye Bank for 35 years, past District Governor and was a recipient of many other Lions awards.
Lions Schaan and Budd were selected by the Warren Lions Club to become the members of the Knights for Vision Fellowship, because of their many years of service towards the Club’s eyeglass collection and recycling efforts. As many of you know, the Club has eyeglass recycling bins at the Warren Municipal Building, Warren ACMEmarkets, and ShopRite of Stirling. Over the years, the two Lions have collected, sorted and delivered thousands of eyeglasses, cell phones, and hearing aids through these community boxes. Both individuals have demonstrated passion and dedication in their efforts advancing the Club’s core Sight mission.
The recycling bins have been closed for several months due to COVID-19, resulting in the eyeglass recycling center disruption, but are now fully open and operational.
Congratulations and a big round of applause for Lions Schaan and Budd.
