The Township Committee is pleased to congratulate the Warren Township Green Team on their receipt of the Environmental Achievement Award from the Association of New Jersey Environmental Commissions for their activities during the pandemic.

They also ran two food drives, which were held on August 29 and September 26, both organized by Shweta Agrawal. In addition, Michael Pate and Maria Mensinger shared information with the Warren Township schools.
Green Team members Gloria Mayer, Susan Zeitels, and Christina Lewis also assisted with the planting of three new rain gardens located behind the Warren Township Library, ALT School, and Temple Har Shalom constructed with a grant from Rutgers University.
The Environmental Achievement Award was presented to the Green Team at their virtual Environmental Congress held on October 1, 2020.
In addition to these activities during the pandemic, the Green Team successfully completed the requirements to qualify for Silver Certification from Sustainable New Jersey.
Mayor Marion stated, “the Township Committee appreciates and recognizes this significant achievement by the Green Team, especially given the fact that the work for all these activities was completed by Warren resident volunteers. The activities of the Green Team make Warren a healthier place to live.”
Committeeman Vic Sordillo commented that, “the actions of the Green Team truly represent how special Warren is and applauds this momentous achievement.”
