Benefit Concert for the VFW & Veterans Alliance
The Union Municipal Band, under the direction of Howard Toplansky will present a free concert on Monday evening, May 22, 2023. The concert will be held at the Township of Union Senior Center, 652 Rahway Avenue, Union, NJ at 7:30 p.m. The public is cordially invited to attend this benefit concert for the VFW and Veterans Alliance, supporting the Memorial Day Parade. Parking will be available behind the Senior Center, at Union Collision and on Rahway Ave. Admission is free although donations will be graciously accepted.
This concert will feature music from Broadway, traditional band music, marches, waltzes and a variety of concert classics. The concert will include the following selections: “Light Cavalry Overture”, “Jamaican Rumba”, “Armed Forces Medley”, “George M. Cohen Patriotic Fantasy”, selections from George Gershwin and other favorites.
The band would like to invite musicians, including High School students, from Union and the surrounding communities to join the group. If you are interested please call the Recreation Department at 908-686-4200.
