Ending school on a Colorful Note
The K-Kids Club members at Valley Road School in Clark recently participated in a special after-school project that was donated by their parent club, the Kiwanis Club of Clark. K-Kids adviser Kim Belverio and the students enjoyed this activity because not only was it fun but it had a purpose. Students were given palm size rocks, permanent markers, paints, and brushes to create colorful messages of hope, inspiration, and love to share with the community. Ms. Belverio said, “The students took home their rocks and are going to hide them in random places around town.” She said it was the perfect end-of-the-year activity to send the children off with a message of making the world around them a happier place.
Clark Kiwanis Club secretary Cara Hund initiated the June 15th activity and was instrumental in securing the supplies. “This is a fun activity that is easy for the students and brings so much joy to others when they find a colorful message.” She shared that the Hehnly School’s K-Kids are planning to do the activity in the fall.
