If You Aren’t Comfortable Networking, This “Networking Event” is for You!
Responding to an issue raised by many businesses over the past year, the Union Township Chamber of Commerce is featuring “Networking for Those Who Do Not Like to Network,” scheduled for Thursday, May 14, 2015, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at Maplecrest Ford Lincoln, 2800 Springfield Avenue, Vauxhall, NJ.
The program will feature an interactive program, presented by Abby Kohut, an award-winning human resources professional and president of Staffing Symphony, LLC. She has delivered more than 500 workshops across 33 states on a variety of job-related and social media topics. Kohut is well-known in the business world as “Absolutely Abby.” Her website Abby was selected as one of the top 100 career websites, by Forbes in 2013, and as one of the “top 100 influential people online” by Fast Company Magazine.
“If thinking about attending a networking event makes you want to stay home, then you are not alone, said James Masterson, Chamber CEO. “But, to build your business or to advance your career, it’s important to become more comfortable when meeting others at business events.”
Masterson added that the program will address such issues as: identifying the best networking opportunities, why networking is fun when you do it correctly and how to differentiate yourself from others so that people will remember you.
Admission for the event is $10 for members and $15 for guests. Preregistration is required by contacting the Chamber by calling 908-688-2777, or by emailing executivedirector@unionchamber.com.
The Union Township Chamber of Commerce is a professional association dedicated to strengthening, uniting, promoting and representing member businesses located in Union and the surrounding area.
