Union Township Chamber Plans 64th Annual Gala With “Sixties” Flair
“When I’m 64: The Chamber Celebrates the 60’s and the Beatles” is the theme of the Union Township Chamber of Commerce’s 64th Annual Gala, scheduled for Friday evening, April 12, 2019 at the Galloping Hill Caterers in Union. BCB Community Bank of Union has signed on again as the Major Event Sponsor, and Sharon Patel of Patel Printing Plus is Chair of the event.
The event will feature a number of awards to be given to various business and community groups, including: “President’s Award” to Spencer Savings Bank, the “James T. Schaefer Civic Award” to Barbara LaMort of the Union Township Historical Society, “Spirit of Union Award” to Kim Eason of the Concerned Citizens of Vauxhall Civic Association and to George Thomas of the Galloping Caterers, “You ARE the Chamber Award” to Cecil Cates of CMIT Solutions, and “Business of the Year Awards” to Cozy Corner Deli and Caterers and Woolley Home Solutions of Maplewood/Union.
“This year, the Chamber is traveling back to the sixties in celebration of its 64 years of service to the community,” said Chamber CEO James Masterson. “We are grateful to BCB Bank for their continued generosity as the Event Sponsor; we also salute all of our honorees for their dedication to the Union business and civic communities.”
In addition, the following individuals will be installed as officers for the coming year: President – Eugene Mitchell, Unity Bank; Senior Vice President – David Armenia, Friends of the Union Library; Immediate Past President – Angel Cartagena, Batteries Plus Bulbs; Vice President of Programming – Sharon Patel, Patel Printing Plus; Vice President, Finance – Julie Dalia, Connect One Bank; Vice President Membership – Joseph Stamp One, Major Printing Company; and Vice President of Economic Development – Laura Breezier, City Fire Equipment Company; and Vice President of Community Relations – Marie Maguire of BCB Bank.
Also being installed are new board members, Ruben Peraza of Magic Fountain, Ron Brangman of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Union County, Corinne Osborne of Investors Bank and Donna Steinmetz of Spartan Detective Agency.
