Union Recreation Department once again invited students to paint participating store fronts in the downtown with a Halloween theme.
Desi Garcia, a junior at St. Mary of the Assumption High School in Elizabeth, has been participating in the event since the sixth grade. A more traditional theme of a black cat with pumpkins was selected for this year’s entry into the Halloween Window Painting Contest 2016. “Pookie”, (a friend’s real life tuxedo cat), is clearly the main feature of the artwork and has so far delighted passersby within Union Center area.
