The first ever Cranford Tuff Paddle event will be held on Saturday, June 2. It will be a 2-person team race consisting of a combination of paddling a canoe on the Rahway River, a couple of short runs and a portage with canoe across land. Starting at 9 AM in Hampton Park, going to Nomahegan Park, then ending at the Canoe Club, the race should take most teams 1-1.5 hours. A post-race party is included in registration.
The event is sponsored by Cranford Community Connection in conjunction with Cranford Township and the Cranford Canoe Club. The idea of Township Commission member Ann Dooley, the intent is to have a fun event which will feature the beauty of the Rahway River.
