On January 15, Boy Scouts from New Providence Troop 63 attended the annual US Naval Academy Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) Jamboree in Annapolis Maryland. Run by the Naval Academy chapter of the National Eagle Scout Association (NESA), the weekend is an opportunity to watch outstanding young Eagle Scout midshipmen in action. Scout earned technology merit badges in Nuclear Science, Engineering, Programming, Oceanography, Space Exploration, and much more. The Scouts were given personal tours guided of the Naval Academy by midshipmen from New Providence before leaving Annapolis.
Troop 63 welcomes new members. The troop meets every Tuesday at 7:30 P.M. during the school year at The Presbyterian Church in New Providence, 1307 Springfield Avenue.
