Treemendous Character Ceremony
Clark Public Schools
Valley Road School recently held its Treemendous Character ceremony. Students were nominated by staff members who felt these students went above and beyond in the department of character. Students were nominated in 9 areas.
Belonging: A student who welcomes others and others to feel valued; a student who works toward building a positive climate.
Heroes: A student who is a positive role model for other students in the school and one who listens to and values others ideas.
Accomplishments: A student who consistently tries to do their best, succeeding in ways that may not typically be recognized; one who perseveres in all situations.
Fun & Excitement: A student who is engaged in learning and who shares their enthusiasm and energy with others.
Curiosity & Creativity: A student who asks “why” and maybe even “why not”; one who has a desire to explore the unknown.
Adventure: A student who is willing to take a chance and push beyond boundaries to succeed. One who readily takes a challenge without fear of failing.
Leadership: A student who is unafraid to make a decision and take ownership of the choices they make.
Confidence: A student sets goals and takes steps to meet them. One with a healthy outlook on life and looks inward for approval, not outward.
Bucket-Filler: A student who is looking to build classmates up, instead of knocking them down. They demonstrate appropriate class behavior and don’t dip into others’ buckets (including staff and students). Shows kindness, integrity, teamwork, trustworthiness, and caring to others.
The following students were awarded this honor:
Leah Kristen, Lucas Hamm, David-Xavier Ortiz, Julianne Johnson, Christopher Scuorzo, Edward Hamilton, Samantha Murphy, Austin Carrick, Kaja Hajduk, Payton Kurek, Anthony Castro, Leon Li, Arnav Patel, Amelia Manimtim, Charlotte Pitta, Serena Gonnella, Isabella Loguidice
According to School Counselor Sarah Badillo who led the event, “I feel I can speak for everyone and say We at VRS are truly grateful for these students. They make our school better and I bet they don’t even realize it. I am so happy they walk these halls and that I get to know them. As a society, we need to remember that sometimes it is the little things that make the most impact and look how many of them have made an impact here at VRS. So, thank you to all our amazing recipients for having Treemendous Character and thank you to the parents who I’m sure have demonstrated all the characteristics we are celebrating today.”
